History
Cuautla Site:
Cuautla was theater of one of the fiercest battles of the war of independence, began on February 19 and ended on May 2nd, 1812.
The city was taken by the forces of the priest and general José María
Morelos y Pavón, who defended the city against the Spanish General Felix
Maria Calleja a few weeks before the need to withdraw from.
Mexican Revolution
The
Maderista Revolutionary Movement of 1910, arrived in the region; headed
by Professor Paul Torres Burgos who was initiated in March 1911 and to
his early death, the troops elected Emiliano Zapata who fought with the
idea that the government returned to them the land that belonged to
them. During the Mexican Revolution CuWautla was the first city conquered by the forces of Emiliano Zapata.
